Description
Barrier pipe must be used when installing PE pipe in contaminated ground.
Features:
- The PlasShield adaptor converts Plasson standard metric fittings to allow connection to various sizes of barrier pipes available in the UK.
- The adaptor seals the internal bore to ensure the barrier layer in the cut end of the pipe is not exposed to water and meets the criteria of WIS 4-32-19.
- To convert a standard metric fitting to accept barrier pipe, simply discard the original grey nut and replace with the black nut, barbed adaptor and original (white) grip ring on 25mm, 32mm and 63mm, or the new coloured grip ring where supplied on all other pipe diameters.
- When used in buried applications and to maintain protection, it is necessary to wrap the fitting with aluminium foil tape & petrolatum tape or waterproof tape – This provides continuity of protection to the water in the pipe and minimises any risk of contamination.
- The captive ‘O’ ring seal provides lifetime protection against leakage and requires no nut tightening to achieve a seal.
- The system is designed for connection to many pipe types and materials providing compatibility with existing systems.
